Slowly and easily put the needle into the mark that you already made on the cover. For this you are probably going to get better results with a running stitch. Get the stitches as close together as you possibly can.
After you are done with the stitching, you will glue the patch on the stitches. Put the glue onto the loose area of the patch. Also be sure to get an even distribution of the glue so that you are able to cover the entire area of the surface. Put even and firm pressure on it so that it will stick evenly. Allow it to dry before you do anything else with it.
Sixth: Waterproof
Putting on the waterproofing spray will make sure that your cover is still keeping the water out of the bed of your truck.
Seventh: Reinstall
This is when you are going to take the cover and put it back on the truck. Your tonneau cover should now be fully functional again. While it may not look like it did before it was damaged, it will be just as functional. Also, you have just saved yourself some money.
